Since this is a new disk there are no partitions defined yet.
You can create several partitions or one large partition as seen here.
A filesystem type must then be assigned to the partition. Normally you'll want to create an "ext2" filesystem since this is what Linux uses.
A mount point can also be assigned, but since I'll be using Linuxconf in the later pages I'll wait until then.
