Setting the System Mount Points (Partitioning)

At this point, you must tell the installation program where to install Red Hat Linux. This is done by defining mount points for one or more disk partitions in which Red Hat Linux will be installed. One of the DASD's must be specified as the root partition (i.e. a mount point of /). Because the DASD partitions are usually small (e.g. ~ 2 GB's) it is recommended mount points of / and /usr/share be used (refer to Figure 3-4). It is also recommended data partitions be specified (i.e data partition mount points /home and /usr/local).
