Introduction
Jewels is from the same family of semi-logic, semi-action games that made Tetris® famous. It is simple to play, but hard to win and although indeed similar to Tetris at first sight you may find out that it requires different mindset and offers different playing experience.

Here is how it works: bars of jewels are constantly falling from the top of the screen and forming a pile at the bottom. The user can rotate the three blocks within the bar, but not the bar itself.
The goal is to align them so that three or more jewels of the same kind form a straight line in the pile at the bottom.
When that happens, those jewels are removed from the pile, the ones above them slide down, the user scores points, and, most importantly, more room opens at the top.

 Rules

You can move the falling bar left and right and you can rotate the blocks within it while it is falling.

The game objective is to gain as many points as possible, respectively being able to play as long as possible. Note the speed of the falling blocks, hence the difficulty, increases as the games goes on.

The game is over when the bars pile up to the top of the screen and no new bar can be released for a free fall.

The buttons for the game controls can be adjusted from the options screen as displayed on the right.

Installation

Note there are two files that need to be installed in order for the game to work: the program file and the graphics (skins) file. There are different graphics files for the different devices out on the market; this is done so that the player gets the best possible experience based on their PDA capabilities. In order to pick the appropriate graphical file you would need to know the display resolution of your device. For example, most Palm devices running OS 3.x and 4.x have standard resolution of 160x160 pixels; most devices runing Palm OS 5.x have a resolution of 320x320 pixels; the Sony CLIE devices can be either of the above two, or can even go as high as 320x480 pixels.

Locate the appropriate skin by its file name; for ZIP and CD distributions the skin files are located in a folder called "Skins".

Installing the selected file and the program file is a matter of double-clicking on them from within the desktop file browser and then following the on-screen instructions.

Registration

Note: Depending on where you have received the game from, you may or may not need to register it. If the game has come as part of a larger game bundle on CD or media card, then this section does not apply to you; instead, you may have to see how to register the complete product you have ordered - see its documentation for more details.

For all downloads made through Internet, registration refers to the process of unlocking the full game capabilities by purchasing an unlocking (registration) key.

To purchase such a key, go to the vendor from which you have downloaded the game and place your order. For most vendors, the unlocking key will be supplied immediately after placing the order, but you may want to check with them first.

Once you receive your Registration code, run the shareware version, then choose the "Register" entry in the main menu. In the screen that opens you have to enter the registration code as instructed. There will be no place to enter a code if the game is already successfully registered.
