Features
- Font layout designed specially for internet usage.
- This is the first Tamil font (and any Indian language font), which
permits texts to be used AS IS in a HTML document and e-mails.
- No characters above 126. No need to use 6 to 8 bytes to send one byte.
The HTML reserved punctuation marks are not used.
- The html document size will be much smaller than with other fonts.
- Variations from the popular Mylai keyboard layout are minimal.
- New character for ar, (neer mOr, oor) is added. The dot is now nicely centered.
- Commonly used punctuation marks are now added and are in standard ASCII positions.
- The font size is a mere 27K bytes.
- This is released free as a service to the Tamil literate community.
Differences from Mylai layout.
- Old style Raa and the @sa are removed.
- choo is obtained by chu + choo-suffix.
- NYa is obtained by e + choo-suffix.
- nu (as in nugar) is obtained by aa-suffix + n1u-suffix.
- nu as in avanukku is obtained by ai-suffix + n2u-suffix.
- lu is obtained by la + n2u-suffix.
- NYu is obtained by e + n1u-suffix.
- aa is obtained by a + poo-suffix.
- Positions of sri, e, E, pr-oldai, ee, i, pu-suffix, poo-suffix have changed.
- All other characters are at the same positions.
- As before to obtain roo, moo, too, zhoo, Loo you should type the prefix (T key)
first and then the mu key etc.
- As before to obtain pu, poo, vu, voo, zhu, zhoo, NGu, NGoo you should type p etc.
first and then the pu or poo-suffix.
