To access the interface for any of these services you must first pop-up the DOS-NET Main Menu using the network pop-up keys. Usually, the network pop-up keys are CTRL+ALT+Right shift keys pressed together. The DOS-NET Main Menu![]() It also shows the machine's name as \\SERVER1, and its node number as 01h. The only option shown here is Network Information. Network Information Menu![]() Most of the programs that use the DOS-NET Main Menu have an entry in the DOSNET.INI file. You can set the program's default settings through the DOSNET.INI file. NOTE You can disable the DOS-NET Main Menu to save memory.To do this, set the Popup= parameter in the DOSNET.INIfile to 0. This saves approximately 10kof memory. If you disable the DOS-NET Main Menu, those programs that normally use it will not load the additional program code for the menu. This also saves memory for those programs. Network Message MenuIf network messages are enabled, an additional option is displayed in the DOS-NET Main Menu called "Network Messages". Selecting this option enables you to send and view messages. Messages may also be sent and received using the NET SEND and NET RECEIVE commands.![]() The available options on this menu are: Reply When you receive a message (private message only), this option is highlighted. Selecting this option allows you to return a message to the sender. Simply type the message, then press: Enter. This option is not available for public messages sent to all users. View Next Press this option to view your next message. Send Msgs To send a message, select this option. You will be prompted to specify the machine name to whom the message is addressed. e.g. \\SERVER1, or press * to send to all network users. Sound This option enables or disables the message alarm. Popup This option enables or disables the pop-up feature. Boot ProtectionNetSoft LAN provides all configurations with CTRL+ALT+DEL Boot Protection. This can be disabled by setting the CtrlAltDel= parameter in the DOSNET.INI file to 0.If the CtrlAltDel= and Popup= parameters are both enabled (set to 1), NetSoft LAN displays a warning menu if you attempt to boot a machine. ![]() Attempting to boot with files open, displays additional information.
