Linux for Windows installs Linux-Mandrake onto a Windows PC without
any disk partitioning. Linux4Win creates a folder to place
two files which contain the Linux-Mandrake system: one
file contains the operating system and data, the other holds the
swap. You can then boot into Linux or Windows from a boot-menu.
Since
Linux4Win doesn't require partitioning there is no risk
to your existing Windows data and applications. This can be an
ideal way to discover Linux-Mandrake without having to
modify your hard drive.
Linux4Win
works with the graphical installer DrakX. The system
requirements are a Pentium or compatible with at least 64MB of
RAM for acceptable performance. You'll also need enough free space
on a hard drive to accommodate another operating system (at least 400MB). Linux4Win works
with Win95, 98 & ME - not with WinNT or Win2000.
