OOPS! PC Hold is not quite finished. It works fine but only with MIDI files & Wave files; and only on Soundblasters and compatibles. You may find some references to CD support and other options, but these haven't been implemented yet. For more details about PC Hold and connecting your computer to your telephones for Music-on-Hold, go to: http://www.bizcor.com PC HOLD was developed as a low-cost, computer-based alternative to devices that attach to a telephone or telephone system and allow the playing of music or advertisements over the phone's "hold" circuit. These devices are known as "Music-on-Hold" and "Announcement-on-Hold" modules. PC HOLD utilizes the computer system's sound board to produce both music and announcements to be played over the phone to callers placed "on hold." For music, it can play MIDI files and WAVE files. The announcements can be pre-recorded or the user can record his/her own announcements through the computer using PC HOLD. PC HOLD works by reading and playing a "playlist" - a user-built list indicating which songs or announcements will play when PC HOLD is run. The playlist can be mixed with announcements and MIDI files. Once built and saved, PC HOLD will play this "playlist file", starting with the first item through the last and "loop" to start and play again. It will play in a continuous fashion, working in the background, providing music and advertisements or announcements to the callers that are placed "on-hold". Throughout this HELP document, clicking "next" will take you through a "step-by-step" encounter with PC Hold. |
