The irregular verbs Trainer IrrTrainer is a tool to improve the knowledge of english irregular verbs. The training mode is based on personal statistics.

Installation

Use the Setup.exe from the same directory  you opened this document from to install IrrTrainer on your PC. To successfully install IrrTrainer please be sure to meet the requirements listed in Preconditions for the Installation.

These are the steps for installing IrrTrainer on your PC:

1. Make sure that all preconditions are met on your PC.
   
2. Start Setup.EXE from the same directory the ReadMe.htm file was opened from. Setup.EXE checks the preconditions listed in Chapter Preconditions of this document and installs the .NET Framework if neccessary. If Setup detects that one or more preconditions are not met, an Error MessageBox is displayed and the installation process will be terminated. Make sure, that all preconditions are met and install the appropriate parts on the target machine.
   
3. After installing IrrTrainer successfully there is an icon on the desktop as well as in your program group on the Start menu. Both will start IrrTrain.

Getting Started using IrrTrainer

Start the IrrTrainer application and you have to main options: to do a training session or to play a quiz. Click Game/New and choose between Simple Match (quiz) and Training. In both cases for a predefined  number of verbs (see Options/Number of Tests) the missing verb forms are asked to be filled in the textboxes. You can decide between the base form as given verb form or choose the given verb form randomly (see Options/Given Form).

The main difference between Simple Match and Training is, that in case of Trainings, the choise of verbs is based on previous Trainings. To simplify, those verbs with erroneous answers in the past are asked more often. For Simple Matches the verbs are chosen completely at random.

The workset of verbs, where the testesd verbs are chosen from is selected with Workset/Current Workset. Beside the complete workset of 283 irregular verbs there are two predefined sets named Beginner (83 verbs) and Core (123 verbs). The worksets can be customized in the Workset/New dialog. All existing worksets can be used as templates (add) and clicking the checkbox every verb can be excluded or included. The new workset is named and can be saved then.

For beginners there is the option to play without past participle form (set Options/Past Participle to false).

Remove IrrTrainer

To remove IrrTrainer from your computer there are two possible ways.

1. Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel.
2. Double Click on the Microsoft Installer Package used to install IrrTrainer.

Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel

Open the Control Panel and choose Add/Remove Programs.

Select IrrTrainer and press the Remove Button.

The system prompts you with a MessageBox to ensure that you really want to uninstall IrrTrainer.

Press the Yes Button to start removing IrrTrainer from your computer.

After pressing the Yes Button the system removes IrrTrainer.

Double Click on the Microsoft Installer Package used to install IrrTrainer

To remove IrrTrainer double click the Windows Installer Package you used to install IrrTrainer. This starts the Windows Installer which prompt you with a dialog.

Select Remove IrrTrainer and press the Finish-Button to uninstall IrrTrainer.

After pressing the Finish Button the system removes IrrTrainer.

Once IrrTrainer is removed from your computer the system prompt you with a dialog.

Click the Close-Button to finish this process.

The Microsoft Windows Installer 2.0 is installed automatically by SETUP.EXE prior to installing IrrTrainer.
