Aerodynmics section
Create a new aircraft
Click with the left mouse button on aircraft name text area and enter a new one
(max 8 char) and then press <return> key. A dialog Box appears to cancel or confirm this creation, click OK or CANCEL to continue.
An easy solution consist to choose an existing plane model close to your needs.
1) Go to aerodynamics section and select an existing plane by clicking on plane name assist button, then click on copy function , enter your plane name on the windows that appears, and click ok to create it.
If your prefer to create an airplane from nothing, click on aircraft name area and give the new aircraft name, and then click ok to create it.
Change the engine type and engine number as you want, click on ok to re-init the panel at each time, this is neccessary to re-init the panel if you change the engine type or number.
2) Enter in aerodynamics editor end modify the parameters as you want, click on next/previous to change current page, and click step to finish an save your work.
Click on ? to obtain some help for the requested parameters value.
3) Enter in build editor end modify the parameters as you want, click on next/previous to change current page, and click step to finish an save your work.
Click on ? to obtain some help for the requested parameters value.
4) start the panel editor and modify the newpanel.
5) Go to FLYNOW section to test it.
This version does not includes verification of aircraft model, if you enter some strange parameters in editors you will get strange behaviour in FLYNOW section, therefore don't hesite to contact us by sending your aircraft parameters by e-mail if something goes wrong. To send aircraft parameters, select aircraft name and click on export button, all aircraft parameters will be in EXP directory. Send only .CNF and .PAR files.
Choose an aircraft to modify its parameters
Click on assist button in front of aircraft name text area and then select an aircraft name from the proposed list.
Modify or Set engine type
Click on assist button in front of engine type text area and then select an engine type from the proposed list.
Changing this parameter will reset the panel editor. i.e the built panel for the selected aircraft will be deleted. Therefore, when you define an aircraft , start first by setting engine type and number before creating a panel.
This is a normal operation when you define an aircraft.
Modify or Set engine number
Click on assist button in front of engine number text area and then select an engine number from the proposed list.

Delete an aircraft
Click on assist button in front of aircraft name text area and then select an aircraft name from the proposed list.
Click on delete button to delete it, A dialog Box appears to cancel or confirm this deletion, click OK or CANCEL to continue.
Copy an aircraft
Click on assist button in front of aircraft name text area and then select an aircraft name from the proposed list.
Click on Copy button to dupplicate it, A dialog Box appears to cancel or confirm this copy , click OK or CANCEL to continue.
Export an aircraft
Click on assist button in front of aircraft name text area and then select an aircraft name from the proposed list.
Click on Export button to export it, A dialog Box appears to cancel or confirm this export , click OK or CANCEL to continue.
All files will be exported in AFS\EXP directory.
Import an aircraft
First you should put all aircraft files in AFS\IMP directory.
For example if you get an aircraft from FTP, copy all aircraft files in AFS\IMP before start AFS.
Click on Import button to import a new aircraft, A dialog Box appears in order to get its name, all the files should be in AFS\IMP directory. Enter the filename and click OK or CANCEL to continue.
The build editor
Click on assist button in front of aircraft name text area and then select an aircraft name from the proposed list.
The aerodynamic editor
Click on assist button in front of aircraft name text area and then select an aircraft name from the proposed list.
The panel editor
Click on assist button in front of aircraft name text area and then select an aircraft name from the proposed list.
Click on Panel icon to modify or create a panel for the given aircraft, then the panel editor appears, available functions are depending of the engine type and engine number declared. If engine number is set to 1 you could only put one RPM instrument, if engine number is set to 2 you could put one LEFT RPM, one RIGHT RPM or a double RPM, and so on.
Button signification :
1 Left or alone instrument
2 secondary left
3 Right
4 secondary right
x2 double instrument LEFT and RIght
x4 quad instrument
Depending on engine number the following rule is applied :

QUIT
The QUIT button is used to quit panel editor without save.
SAVE
The SAVE button is used to save the current panel without quit.
DELETE
The DELETE button is used to delete an instrument from the current panel.
Click on DELETE button, then the current panel appears, click with the left mouse button on the instrument to be deleted or click with the right mouse button to return.
VIEW
The VIEW button is used to view the current panel.
Click on right mouse button to cancel.
PUT
The PUT button is used to set the currrent instrument on the current panel.
When the current panel appers click on left mouse button to set current instrument position or click on right mouse button to cancel.
MODE
The MODE assist button is used to change resolution mode between 640x480 and
1024x768
BACKGROUND
The BACKGROUND button is used to get a background pattern from a BMP file. the BMP file should be in 640x480 or 1024x768 in 256 colors and dithered with the panel palette. A reference Palette is provided in AFS\BMP directory (this is a palette from PainShop Pro). When you click on BACKGROUND assist button a dialog box appears in order to enter the filename, this file must be in AFS\BMP, then click on OK or CANCEL to continue.
COLOR
The COLOR assist button is used to get a solid color as background pattern. When you click on COLOR assist button a palette box appears in order to select a color, click on a color to select it, then click on quit button to finish.
ICON
The ICON button is used to create a little icon representing your airplane, which is displayed in select dialog box as picture instead of the standard AFS icon.
When you click on ICON button a dialog box appears in order to enter a filename containing your aircraft picture, the file must be in BMP format not compressed, only the upper left corner is captured (0,0 100,220). The BMP file must be in AFS\BMP directory and dithered with .pal palette.
3dview
the 3dview button is used to create your own 3d external window, When you click on 3dview button a dialog box appears in order to enter a filename containing your 3d external window , only the RED (173) color will be taken into account, then click on OK or CANCEL to continue. the file must be in BMP format not compressed, The BMP file must be in AFS\BMP directory and dithered with .pal palette.
BG
The BG button is used to select a background panel from a proposed list, you could create some background panel by using the BACKGROUND button before.
3D
The 3D is used to select a 3D window panel from a proposed list, you could create some 3D window by using the 3dview button before.
Set current instrument
Click on corresponding instrument button to get and assist box in order to select one out of proposed instrument picture.

To change a sound click on assist button in front of sound text area, then select a sound from the proposed list. If the sound setup was done before, you could listen the selected sound by clicking on it.
