Special Install Instructions: ----------------------------- Note: Assume e10000-cb0 is the primary control board hostname. PROM Image Upgrade Procedure: 1. Install the patch on the main SSP. The flash_boot.ima file is installed in the directory: /opt/SUNWssp/cbobjs 2. Log in as user ssp and disable SSP and CB failover: ssp% setfailover off ssp% setfailover -t cb off The showfailover command should display the following Failover State: SSP Failover: Disabled CB Failover: Disabled 3. Log in as super user and stop all SSP processes (note that all your netcon sessions will be terminated): # /etc/init.d/ssp stop 4. Erase the prom (this will take several minutes): # /opt/SUNWssp/bin/cb_prom -e -h e10000-cb0 Erasing PROM... complete. 5. Program the prom with Version 3.47: /opt/SUNWssp/bin/cb_prom -p /opt/SUNWssp/cbobjs/flash_boot.ima -h e10000-cb0 Programming PROM... complete. 6. Restart the SSP processes: # /etc/init.d/ssp start 7. Check the PROM version after you see the "Startup of SSP as MAIN complete" message in the platform log: ssp% cb_prom -r -h e10000-cb0 Checking PROM revision... 3.47 8. If you have a spare control board, repeat steps #2 - 7 using its hostname instead of the hostname of the primary control board. 9.
