The buildings were inaugurated on the 7th of February 1995 and won the award of National Construction Project of the Year for 1994. The University's new Main Building, Tervahovi provides facilities for the Faculty of Business Administration as well as for the Faculty of Accounting and Industrial Management. All the departments of these two Faculties, except the Department of Information Technology and Production Economics, are situated here. The building also houses three high-tech auditoriums (Levon, Wolff and Kurten), teaching facilities, the Computer Centre, restaurants, Students' Union and bookshop. The Administration Building Luotsi houses Rector's Office, Administration and Academic Affairs Office. Also situated on the new campus is Vaasa's former cotton mill (Vaasan Puuvilla) which has undergone a complete renovation and refurbishment and now houses the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Department of Communication Studies, and the Department of Information Technology and Production Economics. The Western-Finland Centre for Economic Research now occupies the cotton mill's former administration building. The Faculty of Humanities (except the Department of Communication Studies) and the Library are situated at the university's city centre site on Raastuvankatu. Next door, in the former main building of the University, is the Continuing Education Centre. By the end of the century all departments of the university are planned to operate within the new campus.
